First night in Berlin

We got into Berlin at 9pm last night. Had a quick chat with family. Miss you guys!

Our hotel is right by a lot of the big sites downtown. We had a late dinner by the Brandenburg Gate, then wandered around a bit. I had the curry wurst, a Berlin specialty, while everyone else had wiener schnitzel, off of the Heart Healthy menu. Both were delicious.

The Reichtstag. We were all struck by how much more massive it feels in person. This is a huge building, and beautiful at night.

A couple more tanks to end the day. These were put in place by the Soviets and probably served as a good reminder as to where Berlin was located during the cold war.

The Wall ran right through here. There's a brick pattern in the ground to show you where it was, and a few sections on display. Here's the wall with an appropriate symbol of why it fell behind it.
